FAQ

Do I need a driver’s license to drive a snowmobile?

Yes. To drive a snowmobile in Finland, you’ll need a valid car or motorcycle driver’s license.

Can two people share one snowmobile?

We only offer this possibility of a driver and a passenger for our “In the Heart of Wilderness” trail, as this is only 2 days long. However, for the rest of our expeditions, we do not allow it as we believe the experience is only enjoyed as a driver.

Note: These tours are for adults only; children can not be passengers.

Is it suitable for beginners?

We offer expeditions designed for various skill levels, and we always adapt the speed to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for everyone.

  • Beginner Expeditions: If you’re new to snowmobiling, we highly recommend our two tailored trails: “In the Heart of Wilderness” and the “Arctic Ocean Classic.”
  • Advanced Expeditions: Please note that our other expeditions feature more challenging terrain, and we strongly encourage prior experience for those trails.
What’s included in the tour price?

We are the only company in the Nordics that has a premium fleet. All of our tours have Lynx snowmobiles, Finnish-made; they are the best in class, with unlimited speed and sleek design.

We provide thermal clothing, boots, gloves, a helmet, fuel, accommodation, a local expert guide, full board during the tour and insurance. Additionally, we offer self-liability *see more information below* to see how it works.

Review your chosen itinerary for full details.

What should I wear or bring?

Dress in warm layers, as we provide the last and most important layer: thermal underwear, wool socks, and a fleece or down mid-layer. Avoid cotton and jeans. Sunglasses or goggles are useful on bright days, and a neck warmer helps in windy conditions.

Will I see the Northern Lights?

We can’t promise a sighting; the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and their appearance depends on weather and solar activity. What we can promise is that our guides track the latest aurora forecasts and take you deep into the Arctic wilderness, where your chances of seeing them are at their best.

What happens in bad weather?

If the temperature drops too low or visibility becomes unsafe, we may reschedule, reroute, or refund the tour. Your safety always comes first.

Do you offer hotel pickup/drop-off ?

Yes, all tours include pickup from central Rovenemi, Levi or Ivalo hotels or nearby accommodations.

It is important to note that we do not cover the first night in the hotel before the tour commences; you will need to take care of this accommodation yourself.

We advise that you arrive in Lapland at least one day prior, as the tours start at 9 a.m. We take care of the lodging during the tour. Additionally, we offer airport transfers and extra hotel nights at an extra cost.

When is the best time to go snowmobiling?

The winter season typically runs from December to April. We offer expeditions from mid-January to mid-April as they offer the most reliable snow and daylight.
